About this Journal

The Revue de la régulation. Capitalisme, institutions, pouvoirs, is a scientific journal of economics created in 2007 by the association Recherche & Régulation.

The Revue de la régulation provides a forum for economic and social science analyses that are in line with regulationist, and more broadly institutionalist or heterodox, research, as well as for researchers who wish to debate them. Its vocation is to fuel a wide-ranging scientific discussion rooted in the social sciences: economic sociology, history, political science, geography, management and so on. The Revue de la régulation aims to stimulate the field of political economy.

Now more than ever, it seems necessary to develop a historicized and socialized political economy, in order to better understand economic policy choices and corporate strategic developments, as well as their effects, on the basis of the social relationships that structure them. To pursue a global reflection on the transformation of capitalism, considering the scope and diversity of its recompositions, requires bringing together work from different horizons. The research promoted by this journal focuses as much on characterizing the structural forms of contemporary capitalism, as on analyzing the new dynamics at work, and the theoretical and methodological tools needed to grasp them.

The journal is supported by the Maison des Sciences humaines et sociales Paris Nord, the CNRS - Sciences Humaines et Sociales, and a network of research centers. It is listed in the Econlit and Repec-IDEAS indexes. It is included in the scope of scientific journals considered by the CNU05 (rank B in November 2024) and was included in the latest lists of scientific journals in economics published by the CNRS and HCERES Economics and Management sections.

Freely accessible online in html format, and resolutely committed to promoting open science, the Revue de la régulation is registered with the DOAJ and has adopted a diamond model from the outset. No submission or publication fees are charged to authors. All members of the editorial board take care of the journal's scientific coordination and monitoring on a voluntary basis.

The Revue de la Régulation enjoys a large international audience. The journal is one of the leading journals on the OpenEdition Journals portal in economics. Its authorate and readership extend far beyond researchers in regulation theory and even institutionalism - it has become a benchmark journal in political economy and beyond, in the social sciences - and internationally: Germany, Belgium, the UK, the USA, China, Algeria, Morocco, Canada...

With two issues a year, the Revue de la Régulation publishes mainly scientific articles, in response to unsolicited submissions as well as thematic dossiers. But it also publishes shorter articles and interviews (“opinion-debate” section), reading notes, as well as presentations of theses and habilitations to direct research. Texts may be written in French or English (see instructions for authors).

Article proposals should be submitted on the journal's Open Journal System platform.
