The journal follows the ethical codes established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE - https://publicationethics.org). Any violation of the ethical codes will be dealt with in accordance with the principles of COPE.

Author’s attestation

Please refer to the “Activités journal’s Publishing Agreement” which sets out the terms and conditions for the dissemination of articles submitted to and accepted by the journal.

The submission of an article to Activités implies that the author(s) has/have read and accepted the “Activités journal’s Publishing Agreement”.

The journal attaches considerable importance to ethical matters. Authors should keep this in mind.

Submission content

The opinions expressed in the articles or reproduced in the analyses are the sole responsibility of the authors.

Originality and plagiarism

The authors guarantee that their submission is original and does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity.

Conflicts of interest

Any potential conflict of interest must be declared to the journal’s editorial board, whether professional, financial or otherwise, that might be construed as having influenced their approach. Furthermore, all sources of funding for the research presented in the submitted article must be disclosed.

Author’s guarantee

The corresponding author guarantees that only those persons who made a significant contribution to the conception, development and interpretation of the study are listed as co-authors. The corresponding author further guarantees that the final version of the article has been approved. Acknowledgements may mention persons who provided substantial assistance to the published work.

Defamatory statements

The authors guarantee that their submission contains no defamatory, fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements.

Multiple or redundant publications

The authors guarantee that the submitted article has not been previously published and is not based on previously published works (with the exception of notes, reviews and thesis abstracts that are respectively and solely based on the work under review), and that they are not simultaneously submitting their article to several journals.

References

The authors guarantee that they have appropriately cited all publications used in their work.

Editing

The authors authorize the journal’s editorial team to make changes to their article (corrections to spelling, grammar, layout, bibliography, …) and to collaborate with them when changes are submitted for approval.

Erratum

If a serious error or inaccuracy is found after their article has been published, the authors will rapidly inform the journal and cooperate with the journal regarding the retraction or correction of the article concerned.

Where the journal contacts the authors after the publication of their article and following the discovery of a serious error, the authors agree to promptly submit either their corrections or their evidence of the accuracy of the original article.

Print and digital publication

The authors authorize the distribution of their article in digital format, notably on the Cairn.info, OpenEdition Journals and EBSCO portals.

Article review process

Articles are processed as quickly as possible. The journal’s editorial board is solely responsible for the decision to accept or reject an article.

Articles are dealt with by a member of the journal’s editorial committee (see the list of board members in the “committee” tab).

The article is first assessed by the editorial committee to ensure that it is consistent with the journal’s editorial policy. The text will be refused if it is not in keeping with the editorial policy.

If the article is consistent with the editorial policy, it will be assessed by at least two experts, chosen according to the subject of the article. These persons will then give their opinion on the quality of the manuscript with a view to publication in the journal. The review process is confidential and carried out in double blind, i.e. the text submitted for review is rendered anonymous and the names of the reviewers are not communicated to the authors (unless the reviewers explicitly give their consent for their names to be passed on).

In the event of a request for modifications, the authors will explain how the modifications were taken into account in a letter (in Word format) that will set out the nature and location of the modifications made, and which will be attached to the revised article.

Conflicts of interest

Where there is a conflict of interest with the authors or the content of a submission, the editorial committee members concerned will recuse themselves.

Impartiality

Every submission is considered impartially and its merits are judged regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, seniority or the institutional affiliation of the authors.

Confidentiality and use of data

The peer review process is strictly confidential. Information or correspondence relating to an article is not shared with anyone outside of this process. No unpublished information, argument, and no interpretation contained in a submission are used or divulged prior to publication of the article without the consent of the authors.

Editing

Every text that is accepted (as from its first submission, or after modification) is subject to editorial work (corrections to spelling, grammar, layout, bibliography…) carried out in consultation with the authors.

Erratum

If the journal learns that an article it has published contains a serious error, it will inform the authors, who must promptly either submit their corrections or provide proof of the accuracy of the article concerned.

Experts’ undertaking

Recusal

The experts solicited for the assessment will rapidly inform the journal’s editorial board if they consider themselves insufficiently qualified or if they do not have sufficient time to assess the submitted research.

Confidentiality and use of data

The peer review process is strictly confidential. Information or correspondence relating to an article is not shared with anyone outside of this process. No unpublished information, argument, and no interpretation contained in a submission are used or divulged prior to publication of the article without the consent of the authors.

Impartiality

The quality of the submitted article is assessed objectively while respecting the intellectual independence of the authors. The experts express their points of view clearly, with supporting arguments; ad hominem criticism is prohibited.

Multiple or redundant publications

The experts will inform the journal’s editorial board of any substantial similarity between the text under review and any article published or simultaneously submitted to another journal and of which they are aware.

The experts will inform the journal’s editorial board of any use of other authors’ works without mentioning their source.
